Terms and conditions
Last updated: August 5, 2026
Draft. This text must be reviewed and approved by the Club before publication; the items marked as pending are not confirmed yet.
By using this site to donate or to create an account, you accept these conditions. Please read them before making your donation.
What this platform is
This site is the Club Shriners de Mexicali's channel for receiving online donations, selling tickets to its events and related products, sharing news about its campaigns, and issuing the corresponding receipts. It is operated by the Club itself.
What a donation is
A donation is a voluntary contribution made free of charge. It is not a purchase: it does not entitle you to anything in return, to a product or service, or to any say in the Club or in decisions about how the funds are used.
By donating you declare that the funds come from a lawful source and that you are authorized to use the payment method you pay with.
What buying tickets or products means
Unlike a donation, buying a ticket or a product is a transaction with something given in return: you pay a price and you receive something for it. That is why it carries VAT, and why it is treated differently in the refund policy.
The price charged is the one the platform calculates when you confirm your order, not whichever was published earlier. The amounts are frozen at that moment and do not change even if the Club later adjusts the item's price.
Confirming an order holds your spot for a limited time while you complete payment. If payment isn't completed within that window, the reservation expires and the spots become available to other people again. Each event has limited capacity, allocated in order of confirmed payment.
An order counts as paid only when the payment gateway confirms it to us. A success message in your browser is not enough: the valid confirmation is the one that arrives through the gateway's verified channel.
TODO: event-specific conditions — minimum age, dress code, whether a ticket may be transferred to someone else. These are decisions the Club makes for each event.
Refunds
Once charged, a donation is considered final. There are narrow exceptions — a duplicate charge, an incorrect amount, an unrecognized charge — set out in the refund policy.
Tickets and products are treated separately, also in that policy: they are not refundable by default, except when the Club cancels or reschedules the event.
Tax receipt (CFDI)
A receipt is issued only if you request it when donating and enter complete, correct tax details. The CFDI is issued exactly with the details you provided.
If the tax authority rejects the receipt because the tax ID, postal code, or tax regime does not match your official tax record, we notify you by email and the receipt is not retried automatically. Correcting those details and requesting reissuance is up to you.
TODO: confirm the Club's status as an authorized donee and, with it, whether the donation is tax deductible.
User account
A one-time donation does not require an account. A recurring donation does, because someone has to be able to review, pause, or cancel it.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the activity that occurs in your account. Let us know if you notice access you do not recognize.
We may suspend or close an account used to commit fraud, to test payment methods belonging to others, or to attack the site.
Acceptable use
You may not use the platform to launder funds, to test unlawfully obtained cards, to impersonate another person, to automate bulk requests, or to attempt to access data that is not yours.
Availability and limitation of liability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the site available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. Charging also depends on third parties — the payment gateways and your issuing bank — whose availability we do not control.
The Club is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the site. Nothing written here limits liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version in force is always the one published at this address, bearing the date shown above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. TODO: confirm with the Club's counsel the jurisdiction to which the parties submit.
The exceptions to the no-refund rule are in the refund policy.
